Why use Flash Trash? At Flash Trash, we take pride in being a locally-owned and operated garbage collection service, deeply rooted in the community of Citrus County. As residents of this very place we call home, our family is committed to serving our fellow community members with dedication and care. Back in the late winter of 2020, we recognized a growing need as corporate garbage collectors faced delays and challenges. It was at this pivotal moment that we chose to become part of the solution. Initially, our endeavor was a community outreach project, and we served many areas at a cost that reflected the residents' needs when other trash collection services fell short. As our business expanded, we adjusted our prices to establish a sustainable business model that aligns with the demands of our current economy. While our growth continues, our focus has now shifted towards creating an industry-disrupting work environment and becoming a valuable community partner. We are dedicated to meeting the specific needs of our local residents here in Citrus County, striving to go beyond the traditional notions of garbage collection. At Flash Trash, we firmly believe in the power of kindness, delivering our services with genuine smiles, and fostering a positive work environment. We understand that exceptional customer service goes hand in hand with creating a strong sense of community. By choosing us, you not only support a local business but also contribute to a company that prioritizes the well-being of its employees and actively engages in community initiatives. Experience the difference of Flash Trash, where service meets kindness, and together we make our community cleaner, happier, and stronger.

How much trash can I put out and when is it collected?Flash Trash collects once per week. Our plan options are as follows: 1 CONTAINER PLAN: 1- 96-Gallon container. We will accept broken down cardboard outside the container, OR 1 small household item, OR 1 extra bag of trash. 2 CONTAINER PLAN: Up 2 - 96-gallon trash cans or their equivalent, which equates to approximately 200 gallons of household trash. We will accept broken down cardboard outside the container, OR 1 small household item OR, 1 extra bag of trash. We promise a trash collection day and no a trash appointment or collection window. If your trash is not collected by 7pm, and it was at the curb by 5am, please register a missed collection and we will get someone back out to you to re-collect. Please break down all cardboard and bag your trash in appropriate trash bags. These precautions are in place to prioritize the safety of our Flash Trash teams, especially given the increased prevalence of illnesses. By bagging your trash, we minimize potential contact with your garbage, promoting a safer environment for everyone. Should you require more than the allowed limit of two 96-gallon containers, we encourage you to give us a call. Our team will be happy to provide you with a custom quote tailored to your specific needs.

Is there a certain time I should expect my trash collection?COLLECTION TIMES MAY VARY FROM 6:00AM-7:00PM. Please have your trash out the night before or by 5:30AM on your collection day. Due to weather, traffic, landfill delays, addition of new routes, route optimization for efficiency, and the onboarding of new team members, we suggest having your trash ready for collection the NIGHT BEFORE your scheduled pickup day. This proactive approach ensures that you won't miss your trash collection day.

Do you provide collection services for yard waste?Unfortunately, due to past instances of misuse and abuse, we have made the decision to discontinue yard waste collection as part of our regular services. However, as a gesture of courtesy, we may be able to accommodate the collection of 1 or 2 bags of yard waste if our truck has available space during your scheduled pickup. In select HOA's we do run a separate yard waste collection on Wednesdays as needed. This is not a weekly contracted service. It is pay per visit of $15 minimum. Please call us at 352.423.4500 to get that scheduled. In an effort to promote sustainable practices, we strongly encourage residents of Citrus County to consider composting their yard waste. Composting not only reduces waste but also provides nutrient-rich soil for gardening and landscaping purposes. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter as we strive to provide the best waste management solutions while prioritizing environmental sustainability.

Sugarmill ResidentsWe are delighted to serve the Sugarmill Woods community. Below, you will find answers to some of the most common questions specific to Sugarmill Woods. We continue to offer Valet and Side Door collection services for customers who have included them in their plan. Please note that there is an additional service charge associated with Valet or Side Door service. What is the difference between Side-Door and Valet service? Side-Door Service: With Side-Door Service, our team will collect your garbage from your garage side door and place the trash cans at the end of your driveway for pickup. Valet Service: This option is exclusively available in Sugarmill Woods. With Valet Service, we collect your trash cans from the side door and return them to the side door after collection. In-Ground Bins: While we do prefer containers with wheels and handles, we will collect from the inground bins. Trash must be bagged, and within a reasonable weight, no exceptions. Un-bagged trash, or heavy bags inside the bins, will not be collected. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of our team members.

Do you offer discounts on your services?Absolutely! At Flash Trash, we believe in making waste management affordable and accessible for everyone. We offer various discount programs to cater to different groups within our community. For small communities and homeowners associations (HOAs) seeking cost-saving options, we have developed a unique co-op program called "Hello Neighbor". This innovative program allows communities to join together and benefit from tiered pricing, which means the more households that participate within about an 1/8 mile cluster or street, the greater the savings for each member of the community. At Flash Trash, we are dedicated to supporting the well-being of our community through our Flash Cares program. This initiative is designed to provide assistance to residents who may require additional support with their garbage collection bill. We understand the importance of supporting those who have served and contributed to our community, which is why we also extend special discounts to veterans and church pastors as a token of our appreciation. If you are a veteran or a church pastor, we encourage you to reach out to us directly or submit a contact form to discuss the exclusive service discounts that have been tailored specifically for you. Alongside our community-focused Flash Cares program, these discounts reflect our commitment to making waste management services affordable and accessible while honoring the contributions of individuals who have dedicated themselves to serving others. Please reach out to our team either by phone or through our online contact form to explore the discount options applicable to your specific situation. We look forward to serving you and finding the best way to meet your waste management needs while keeping costs within your budget.

Some examples of HHW are: Car batteries Computer Batteries Fluorescent bulbs Gasoline Household cleaners Motor oils Paint Pesticides Pool chemicals Propane tanks And some other items The characteristic these items all have is that they are dangerous to people if they are exposed to them.
